…moving and shaking in all dimensions!

Congratulations Challengers! You are almost to your ½ mark…..of building a lifelong habit around health!  Yep 28 days to change or establish a new habit….getting to the Pub is just the beginning of your adventure in stamina and fitness!

Different from the vows of matrimony, when you are developing your routines, switching it up is important. Variety helps you stay motivate, interested, and protects you from injuries. Ever feel bored with your exercise routine? Do you feel like your routine is no longer promoting an increase in your heart rate, because your body is “used to it”? Have you noticed you are starting to have strains in your feet, knees, hips, shoulders or wrists from your exercise routine? Is your exercise partner driving your crazy with the same sad story? It’s time to Mix it UP!

Prevent injuries, boredom, build new muscle, and break through a weight loss plateau by mixing up your routine!

As you plan weekly, include these vital components

  1. Endurance Activity 1-2 Days/week: Light-Moderate heart rate, you can do it for a long time (Huge benefit, most time consuming AND…this is often where people get stuck)
  2. High Intensity Training 1-2 Days/week: A couple times a week your activities, should take you to fatigue, make it hard to breath and talk, and make you shake. The good news, it only needs to last 10-20 minutes.
  3. Core Strength Training 1-2X/week: Core strength training improves stability and balance, two qualities that you’ll lose without practice.
  4. Flexibility Training 1 day/week (20-60 min) and with each workout (5-10 min.): Breaks up adhesions and tightness, promoting suppleness.

Switching up your workout is essential to building endurance and stamina. The human body gets use to a workout after two weeks.  You need to move the muscles in a different way and with different intensity to have a well-rounded workout experience.  It is also important to keep your mind and body guessing.

This Weeks Challenge:

20 walking lunges, 30 seconds of plank (or more should you wish), 20 sit ups, 20 push ups.

WINNERS! (You are all of course winners, some won an additional prize this week)

Congratulations Kate H. for winning the FREE ADJUSTMENT last week!
